About The Greenhouse
KB Confections Greenhouse rental space is perfect place to host your baby shower, birthday party, business meeting, bridal shower, church function, graduation party, networking event, and more!
The space has plenty of natural light and many beautiful plants around the space including our plant wall! The plant wall makes a great backdrop for photo opportunities.
How do you reserve the Greenhouse?
The Greenhouse is available to rent on Sundays anytime from 9am-5pm.
To check availability and reserve the Greenhouse Rental Space please contact the shop by calling us at (216) 227-2253, emailing us at kbcbakeshop@gmail.com, or by stopping in to the bakery.
Once we’ve got the details of the event, we’ll fill out the following contract and send it to you for your review and signature. You can return it to us via email or in-person at the shop.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is it to rent the space?
The rental rates are as follows:
– Sundays* : $135/hour
*On Sundays our retail front is closed and may be used as additional space. A lot of people like to set up their food out there and have the event inside the Greenhouse.
There is a 4-hour minimum for all rentals. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
(Important Note: Make sure to account for an hour of setup and an hour of clean up when calculating how many hours you will need the space for.)
Payment for 2-hours is due at the time of signing the contract in order to reserve the space. Final payment is due at Load-In for the event.
You will also be required to pay a $100 refundable security deposit when reserving the room. This deposit will be refunded the week following your rental. The security deposit covers damages to our facility and excessive cleanup after the event, including but not limited to cleanup of leftover food on tables, confetti cleanup, washing our carpets from dirt/stains, wiping down the walls of the greenhouse, and recovering any lost balloons in the ceiling of our greenhouse.
Will the deposit be refunded in the event of a Covid related cancellation?
Per our rental contract, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
What happens if we aren’t out of the space by the agreed upon “Wrap Time”?
Any additional time past the agreed upon “Wrap Time” of the event will be charged in half hour increments billed to the credit card on file for the rental after the event.
How many people does it seat?
The Greenhouse Rental Space can comfortably seat about 35 people. Max capacity is 45 people.
There are 5 four top tables, a 10 top table, and 4 comfy sofa chairs. We can provide up to 10 additional metal chairs at no charge if needed.
Can you bring in your own food?
Yes, you can bring in your own food! If you’re looking for a local caterer, we recommend Despina’s Bakery around the corner here in Lakewood. We have worked with them for many events and their food and service are top notch!
We would love to assist you with any of your sweet treat needs for your event. We specialize in custom cakes, cookies, pastries, macarons, and more! We also have a great selection of teas and coffees. We suggest placing your order for these items two weeks in advance.
If you’re not sure how many desserts or pastry items you’ll need, our staff would be happy to help you. Please call our shop or stop in and we can help you put together a sweets offering that will be truly memorable.
Home baked goods are welcomed as well, but we kindly ask that you do not bring other baked goods in from competing bakeries.
Can we bring in alcohol for our event?
Yes, you can bring in alcohol for your events, but the renter must ensure they are being consumed in a responsible manner and that guests are behaving in a considerate manner at all times.
KB Confections does not provide alcohol in any form. The renter shall not sell alcohol on the premises at any time and may not serve alcohol to minors on the premises at any time.
What types of items should bring with us?
Great question! We find that people commonly forget to bring cutlery, serving utensils, paper goods, and platters.
We can provide trash cans, some heavy duty garbage bags for trash, a broom/dust pan and a “slop bucket” for clean up.
Is the space closed to the public?
Yes! We close off the doors to the entrance of the space to keep the general public out of your special event.
Is there a restroom?
Yes! We have a public restroom available outside of the Greenhouse Rental Space in our retail space. The restroom is gender neutral and is ADA compliant for those in a wheel chair.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, there is access for people in wheelchairs. Please let our staff know and they will guide you from there.
What was the greenhouse before?
KB Confections retail store front and greenhouse are located in the old Winterich’s Florists store front in front of St. Edwards on Detroit.
We love the history of this place and are so honored to be able to use it to take part in your special day.
